Terms of sale
These terms govern the sale of Acetaia Meloria 1903 products through this website. Reading them before ordering is a good idea: they say how the purchase is concluded, what shipping costs, and what happens if you change your mind.
Who is selling
The seller is Conserve Alimentari I Maletti S.r.l., Via Sant'Ambrogio 17/A, 41041 Casinalbo di Formigine (MO), Italian VAT and tax number 01561270362, business register (REA) no. MO-225485, share capital €15,600.00 fully paid up. Telephone +39 349 5162750, email imalettisrl@gmail.com, certified email meloria@pec.it.
«Acetaia Meloria 1903» is the name under which the Maletti family makes and sells its products.
Products and prices
We sell Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena PDO and other products from our acetaia. They are artisan foods: colour, density and aroma may vary slightly from one bottle to another, because they depend on the barrel and on the year. That is not a defect; it is the reason you are buying them.
The prices shown on the site are in euro and include VAT, and do not include shipping, which is shown separately before you confirm. Prices may change at any time, but what applies is always what you see at the moment of your order.
Photographs are illustrative. The information that matters — size, contents, storage — is written on each product page.
How the order is concluded
Before you conclude the order we show you a summary of what you are buying, the total price and the shipping cost, and you can correct any detail. The contract is concluded at the moment you confirm the order, by pressing the button that carries the obligation to pay. Straight afterwards we email you the confirmation with the summary: keep it.
We only sell what we have. We keep availability up to date on the site and we close a product ourselves when it runs out: its page then shows it as sold out and the button to buy it disappears. We do not take money for something we cannot ship you.
If through an error or an unforeseen circumstance the product you ordered should nevertheless be unavailable, we will tell you within two working days and refund you in full, without you having to ask. If you prefer, we can offer an equivalent product or wait for the next availability: the choice is yours.
Payments
The accepted means of payment are shown to you during checkout. Your card or account details do not pass through our systems and we never see them: they are handled directly by the payment service provider, over encrypted channels.
We ship after receiving payment, unless otherwise agreed.
Shipping and delivery
Before paying you indicate the destination country and the cost appears immediately in the summary. There are no surprises at the moment of payment.
- Italy, islands included: €13, free for orders of €49 or more.
- European Union: €15.
- Switzerland and the United Kingdom: €25. They are outside the customs union: any duties and customs charges are yours to pay and are collected by the courier on delivery.
- Other countries: €50, with the same customs warning. If you cannot find your country in the list, write to us: we will look at it case by case.
In Italy we normally deliver within two working days of dispatch, in protective packaging: the bottles travel in their own case, inside a box with shock-absorbing material. Times are indicative and depend on the courier; any delay does not give rise to compensation, but if something gets stuck we keep you informed.
On delivery, check that the packaging is intact. If it is damaged or wet, accept the parcel with a written reservation on the courier's delivery note and tell us: without that reservation it becomes difficult to obtain compensation from the carrier. If the contents are broken, send us a photograph within a few days and we will replace them.
If you change your mind: the right of withdrawal
If you buy as a consumer, that is for purposes outside your trade or profession, you have fourteen days from receipt of the goods to change your mind, with no need to explain and with no penalty (Arts. 52 ff. of the Italian Consumer Code).
To exercise it, an explicit statement is enough: an email to imalettisrl@gmail.com will do. We will reply confirming that we have received it and telling you where to send the goods back.
You must return the products within fourteen days of that communication. The cost of returning them is yours. We refund you within fourteen days from when we receive the products — or from proof that you have sent them, if that comes first — using the same means you paid with. The refund includes the outbound shipping cost you paid, up to the cost of the least expensive delivery we offer.
When withdrawal cannot be exercised. As these are foodstuffs, withdrawal is excluded for sealed products that have been opened after delivery, because they cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene and health protection (Art. 59(1)(e) of the Italian Consumer Code). In practice: a bottle still sealed can come back without any trouble, an opened bottle cannot. Withdrawal is also excluded for products made to your specification or personalised.
Return the products in their case and in the condition in which you received them. If they turn out to be damaged through handling other than what was necessary to establish their nature and characteristics, we may deduct the corresponding diminished value from the refund.
Legal guarantee of conformity
If you buy as a consumer, the products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity for two years from delivery (Arts. 128 ff. of the Italian Consumer Code). In the case of foodstuffs the guarantee must be read together with the expiry date or the best-before date shown on the packaging.
If a product does not match what you ordered, write to us: we will replace it or, if that is not possible, refund you.
Complaints and disputes
For any problem write to imalettisrl@gmail.com or call +39 349 5162750. We are a family, not a call centre: we answer ourselves, and usually the same day.
If we cannot reach an agreement, you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution body listed by the Italian Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. The European ODR platform is no longer available: it was discontinued on 20 July 2025 following the repeal of Regulation (EU) 524/2013.
Your right to go to court remains unaffected. If you are a consumer, the competent court is that of the place where you reside or have elected domicile.
Applicable law
Italian law applies to this contract. If you are a consumer resident in another European Union country, the more favourable protections of the mandatory rules of your own country remain unaffected.
Changes
We may update these terms. The ones that apply to each order are those published on the site at the moment you send it, which we suggest you save or print.
